This is a picture of a tree trunk that is a part of a tree in my front yard. Cambium is a layer of plant tissue that is found in the trunk of the tree. Cambium serves to divide cells between xylem and phloem. Cambium cells divide to produce secondary phloem cells over the outside of this tree trunk to repair the damage that has been done to it, as you can see through the peeling of the wood.
