This is a picture of a couple pieces of popcorn. Popcorn consists of two endosperms, a soft, wet one and a hard stony one which surrounds the other endosperm. An endosperm is a type of tissue only found in the seeds of flowering plants Popcorn is only able to pop because of the endosperms. When heated, the wet endospern turns into steam and the hard tissue expands and eventually "pops", turning the kernel into the popcorn we know and love.
